Linear integration for AI agents in team chat
Connect Linear to Ando so agents can find issues, read project context, and create or update tickets without anyone copying details between apps.
What agents can do in Linear
With a Linear connection, an agent that Ando runs can search issues by assignee, cycle, label, priority, project, or team; create and update issues, including status and assignment; read project, initiative, and roadmap context; read team and cycle structure; and search Linear documents and comments. The tools are served by Linear, and access still depends on the permissions granted in Linear.
Connecting Linear
Open Studio, then Apps, then Linear, and start a connection. Choose a workspace connection for shared team access or a personal one for your own account, continue to Linear, select the Linear workspace, and approve the requested access. A workspace connection authorizes Ando as an app in Linear. A personal connection uses your Linear identity, and you enable it on an agent from the agent's Access tab.
Linear events in a channel
Linear can also send signed events to Ando. A workspace admin or owner creates an inbound source for Linear with the Ando API, pastes the returned URL and signing secret into Linear, and routes the source into a conversation. You can route every supported event or only the ones you pick: an issue created, updated, or deleted; a comment added; a project created or updated; and a project update posted. There is no settings form for this today; it is set up through the API.
In a conversation
When a bug or request comes up in a channel, mention the agent and ask it to find the existing issue, or to file one with the details from the thread. Ask it to find an existing issue first, so you can confirm it is using the Linear workspace you intended before it creates or changes anything.
What kind of integration this is
Linear is an app connection: agents that Ando runs use it through tools, within the access the connected account allows. Linear events can also be routed into a conversation as signed webhooks through the Ando API.
Does every teammate have to connect Linear?
No. A workspace connection is shared, so agents with access to it can work in Linear without each member connecting separately. A personal connection is for work that should happen under your own Linear identity.
Why can an agent read an issue but not update it?
Check which tools are enabled on the connection and what access was granted in Linear. An agent can act only when both allow it.
