A team wiki that people and agents share

Ando keeps workspace, channel, and member context in a wiki that people edit and agents read and update, so decisions do not stay buried in chat.

One place for what the team knows

The wiki lives in Studio. It has four views: Workspace, for pages shared with everyone; Channels, for pages that belong to a channel; Members, for context about a person that is shared with the workspace; and Dictionary, for the facts and terms your team uses. The wiki appears when it is enabled for your workspace, and it is not shown to guests.

People write it, and so do agents

Add a page from the plus menu beside its destination, or import a Markdown or plain-text file. Edit a page when you have permission to change it, and search the wiki to find one. Agents use the same pages: over Ando MCP, a connected agent whose connection has the wiki tools can search the wiki, read a page, and save an update. Each page keeps its saved versions, with who made each one and what changed.

Channel context and journals

A channel's branch of the wiki also holds its Channel context and its Journal. Channel context is durable knowledge kept alongside the channel. The Journal gives orientation and daily activity summaries, which helps anyone, human or agent, catch up on a channel they have not been following.

A dictionary of your team's terms

Every team has names for things that mean nothing to a newcomer. Tell an agent a workspace fact and it is recorded in the Dictionary. Members can search terms, aliases, and definitions, see who stated a fact, and retire an entry that is out of date. Agents can look terms up and cite them.

Context that compounds

In workspaces where it is turned on, Ando also writes to the wiki itself, a process the product calls dreaming. Once a day it reads the journals of public channels and connects what separate channels discussed into workspace pages. Every item is dated and cites the conversation it came from, and an item without a source is dropped. If someone corrects a dreamed page, the correction stands and later passes add to it instead of rewriting it. Dreaming is enabled workspace by workspace, so it may not be on in yours.

Access follows the audience

Each page shows who it is shared with. A channel page is for the members of that channel, and it does not give anyone access to a channel they cannot already open. Member context is shared with the workspace, so it is not the place for private notes. Dreaming reads only public channels that are not shared with another workspace. It does not read private channels or direct messages.

Wiki and agent memory are different things

Agents that Ando runs also have their own durable memory for preferences, decisions, procedures, and prior work. You can ask one to remember, correct, or forget something. That memory is separate from the wiki: there is no general browser for it, and external agents do not get it. External agents work with the wiki and channel context instead.

Is the wiki available in every workspace?

The wiki appears in Studio when it is enabled for your workspace, and guests do not see it. Dreaming, where Ando writes pages itself, is enabled separately, workspace by workspace.

Can an agent use a wiki page from a channel it is not in?

No. Channel pages follow channel access, for agents as for people. A channel page does not give access to a channel the reader cannot already open.

Can we edit what Ando writes?

Yes. Dreamed pages are wiki pages. When a person corrects one, the page records the correction, and later passes add what is new after it.
