ClickUp integration for AI agents in team chat
Connect ClickUp to Ando so agents can find tasks, update status and custom fields, comment, and read ClickUp Docs from the conversation.
What agents can do in ClickUp
With a ClickUp connection, an agent that Ando runs can search and read tasks, lists, folders, and spaces; create and update tasks, including status and custom fields; search and read ClickUp Docs; and comment on tasks. The tools are served by ClickUp.
Connecting ClickUp
Open Studio, then Apps, then ClickUp, and start a connection. Choose whether it belongs to the workspace or to you, approve access in ClickUp, then give the agent access to the connection. For a personal connection, use the agent's Access tab.
A limit to know about
ClickUp's hosted server for agent tools is in public beta, and ClickUp rate-limits workspaces that do not have its AI add-on. If an agent's ClickUp requests are refused, that limit is the first thing to check.
ClickUp events in a channel
ClickUp can also send signed events to Ando. A workspace admin or owner creates an inbound source for ClickUp with the Ando API, pastes the returned URL and signing secret into ClickUp, and routes the source into a conversation. You can route every supported event or only the ones you pick: a task created, updated, or deleted; a task status or assignee changed; a comment added to a task; and a list created. There is no settings form for this today; it is set up through the API.
In a conversation
Mention the agent in the channel where the work is discussed and ask what is open in a list, or ask it to update a task with what the thread just decided. The change and the reply are both visible to the people in the conversation.
What kind of integration this is
ClickUp is an app connection: agents that Ando runs use it through tools, within the access the connected account allows. ClickUp events can also be routed into a conversation as signed webhooks through the Ando API.
Why are ClickUp requests being rate-limited?
ClickUp's server is in public beta and limits workspaces without ClickUp's AI add-on. The limit is set by ClickUp, not by Ando.
