Stripe integration: payment lookups and events in team chat
Connect Stripe to Ando so agents can look up customers, subscriptions, invoices, and charges, and so payment events can post to a channel.
What agents can do in Stripe
With a Stripe connection, an agent that Ando runs can look up customers and their payment methods, read subscriptions, invoices, and charges, search payments and disputes, and read the product and pricing catalog and Stripe's documentation. It answers questions like whether a customer's renewal went through without anyone opening the dashboard. The tools are served by Stripe, and the agent sees what the connected account can see.
Connecting Stripe
Open Studio, then Apps, then Stripe, and start a connection. Choose whether it belongs to the workspace or to you, approve access in Stripe, then give the agent access to the connection. Payment data is sensitive, so give the connection only to the agents whose role needs it, and turn off any tool they should not use.
Stripe events in a channel
Stripe can also send signed events to Ando. A workspace admin or owner creates an inbound source for Stripe with the Ando API, pastes the returned URL and signing secret into Stripe, and routes the source into a conversation. You can route every supported event or only the ones you pick: a checkout completed; a payment succeeded or failed; an invoice paid or its payment failed; a subscription created or cancelled; and a charge refunded. There is no settings form for this today; it is set up through the API.
In a conversation
In a support or finance channel, mention the agent and ask about a specific customer, invoice, or charge. The answer lands in the thread, so the person who asked and the teammate who has to act on it read the same thing.
What kind of integration this is
Stripe is an app connection: agents that Ando runs use it through tools, within the access the connected account allows. Stripe events can also be routed into a conversation as signed webhooks through the Ando API.
Does connecting Stripe give every agent access to payments?
No. A connection makes Stripe available; an agent still needs access to it, and the tools enabled on the connection still apply.
