Ramp integration: company spend in a private channel
Connect Ramp to Ando to post card charges and a morning total to a private channel, and to let agents look up transactions and spend when asked.
Spend in a channel
On the Ramp app page in Studio, Spend in Ando posts each Ramp card charge, and a morning total of the day before, to a private #ramp channel. To set it up, a Ramp admin creates a read-only app in Ramp and you supply the keys Ando asks for. You can replace the keys later.
What agents can do in Ramp
With a Ramp connection, an agent that Ando runs can search and read transactions, read card and cardholder data, read spend by category, department, or employee, and read the receipts and memos attached to a transaction. It can answer how much the team spent on something this month without someone running a report. The tools are served by Ramp.
Connecting Ramp for agents
Open Studio, then Apps, then Ramp, and start a connection. Choose whether it belongs to the workspace or to you, approve access in Ramp, then give the agent access to the connection. The spend feed and agent access are set up separately: one does not create the other.
In a conversation
In the finance channel, mention an agent that has a Ramp connection and ask about a charge, a card, or a category. Spend data is sensitive, so keep the connection with the agents whose role needs it, and keep the questions in a channel whose members should see the answers.
What kind of integration this is
Ramp is an app connection: agents that Ando runs use it through tools, within the access the connected account allows. It also has a channel feed, set up from the Ramp page in Studio, that posts into a channel without an agent.
Is the #ramp channel public?
No. Spend in Ando posts to a private #ramp channel.
