Sentry integration: issue cards and agent triage in chat
Connect Sentry to Ando so new issues arrive in a channel as cards that update, and agents can search issues, error events, and traces to triage them.
What agents can do in Sentry
With a Sentry connection, an agent that Ando runs can find and select the right Sentry organization or project, search issues by query, project, or status, search raw error and performance events, and fetch a specific issue, event, or trace by reference. The tools are served by Sentry, and access stays within the organization and project permissions Sentry granted.
Issues in a channel, as cards
A workspace admin can open Issues in Ando on the Sentry app page in Studio and select Set up. After approving the installation in Sentry, Ando finishes creating a #sentry channel. New issues are sent there as cards that update as the issue changes. This feed and agent access are separate setup paths: giving an agent a Sentry connection does not create the feed, and the feed does not give an agent tools.
Connecting Sentry for agents
Open Studio, then Apps, then Sentry, and start a connection. Choose whether it belongs to the workspace or to you, continue to Sentry, and approve the requested access for the account and organization you want to use. Then give the agent access to the connection; for a personal connection, use the agent's Access tab. Ask the agent to find an existing issue in the intended project to confirm it works.
Other Sentry events
Sentry can also send signed events to Ando. A workspace admin or owner creates an inbound source for Sentry with the Ando API, pastes the returned URL and signing secret into Sentry, and routes the source into a conversation. You can route every supported event or only the ones you pick: a new issue; an issue resolved, assigned, archived, or regressed; an alert rule triggered; a metric alert going critical, to warning, or resolved; and a comment added. There is no settings form for this today; it is set up through the API.
In a conversation
When an issue card lands in the channel, reply in its thread and mention an agent that has a Sentry connection. Ask it to pull the issue and its latest events and say what changed. The diagnosis stays in the thread beside the card, where whoever picks it up next can read it.
What kind of integration this is
Sentry is an app connection: agents that Ando runs use it through tools, within the access the connected account allows. It also has a channel feed, set up from the Sentry page in Studio, that posts into a channel without an agent. Sentry events can also be routed into a conversation as signed webhooks through the Ando API.
Who can set up the Sentry channel?
A workspace admin, from Issues in Ando on the Sentry app page. Approval in Sentry is also required.
Does the issue feed let agents investigate?
No. The channel feed and agent investigation are set up separately. To let an agent search Sentry, give it a Sentry connection.
