Notion integration: your docs as context for AI agents
Connect Notion to Ando so agents can search your workspace, read the full page or database entry a task refers to, and update pages when asked.
What agents can do in Notion
With a Notion connection, an agent that Ando runs can search across the connected Notion workspace, fetch the full content of a page or database entry by reference, and update pages and database entries. That makes Notion the place an agent looks things up: a runbook, a spec, or a meeting note it should read before acting on the task that mentions it. The tools are served by Notion.
Connecting Notion
Open Studio, then Apps, then Notion, and start a connection. Choose whether it belongs to the workspace or to you, then approve access in Notion. Notion's own authorization decides which pages and databases the connection can reach. A workspace connection suits a shared knowledge base. A personal one suits private pages that are not part of it, and you enable it on an agent from the agent's Access tab.
One app, two kinds of connection
The scope belongs to the connection, not to the app. A workspace can have a Notion connection for the company knowledge base and a member can add a personal one for their own pages. Teammates cannot manage your personal connection or attach it to another agent.
Notion events in a channel
Notion can also send signed events to Ando. A workspace admin or owner creates an inbound source for Notion with the Ando API, pastes the returned URL and signing secret into Notion, and routes the source into a conversation. You can route every supported event or only the ones you pick: a page created, its content updated, its properties updated, or deleted; a comment added; and a database created. There is no settings form for this today; it is set up through the API.
In a conversation
Mention the agent in a thread and point it at the page: ask it to read the spec and list what is still undecided, or to add the decision the thread just reached. The reply and any change it made are visible to everyone in the conversation.
What kind of integration this is
Notion is an app connection: agents that Ando runs use it through tools, within the access the connected account allows. Notion events can also be routed into a conversation as signed webhooks through the Ando API.
Can an agent see every page in our Notion workspace?
It can reach what Notion granted the connection and no more. Ando cannot reach beyond the permissions given when the account was connected.
Is this the same as the Ando wiki?
No. The wiki is where Ando itself keeps workspace and channel context. A Notion connection lets an agent read and update the pages you keep in Notion.
