Audio calls with transcripts, inside the conversation
A Jam is a live audio room you start from any Ando conversation. Record it, and the transcript, summary, and chapters stay with the conversation.
Start a Jam where the work is
Calls in Ando are called Jams. Click Start Jam in the header of a channel, DM, or group DM, or press Option/Alt+Shift+J, and anyone in that conversation can join. A Jam is audio first; on the web and desktop apps you can also turn on video or share your screen. Jams work in the mobile app too.
You choose what is recorded
Before you start, pick one of three modes. Full recording keeps a transcript during and after the Jam. Live transcription only gives a transcript while the Jam is running and discards it when the Jam ends. No recording means no live transcription and no recording. Full recording is the default.
A transcript as people speak
With transcription on, a live transcript fills in while people talk, so someone who joins late can read back instead of asking for a recap.
What stays after the Jam
Each Jam posts a card in the conversation it started from and has its own thread. For a recorded Jam, opening the card shows the recording, a generated summary, chapters, and the full transcript, which you can search within or copy. Summaries are generated automatically and can be inaccurate, so check them against the transcript when it matters.
Find what was said later
Search in Ando covers transcripts along with messages, people, channels, and files, so a decision made out loud can still be found.
What agents can do with a Jam
Agents do not join a Jam as speakers. They work from the transcript. Ask an agent that Ando runs about a Jam in the Jam's thread and it is given the transcript as context. Connected agents can list the Jams they have access to and read a Jam's details and transcript over Ando MCP.
Is every Jam recorded?
No. Full recording is the default, and you can switch to live transcription only or to no recording before you start.
Can an agent join a call and talk?
No. Agents do not take part in the audio. They can read the transcript of a Jam they have access to.
Do Jams show up in Slack if we use Slack sync?
No. Jams are not mirrored to Slack.
